Z.WASP impresses the international brush industry – award presented at the 109th ABMA Convention in Puerto Rico
ZAHORANSKY has been honored with the prestigious William A. Cordes Innovation Excellence Award 2026 at the 109th Annual Convention of the American Brush Manufacturers Association (ABMA). The award ceremony took place during the ABMA Convention from March 24 to 27, 2026, in Puerto Rico. A total of 151 participants from 48 companies attended, including numerous manufacturers and suppliers from across the entire brush and broom industry.
The award recognized the new generation of the Z.WASP – a high-performance machine for the production of large industrial brushes. In the vote among convention participants, it prevailed over an innovative brush handle technology. As a result, both machine-based and product-based innovations were brought into the spotlight.
The Z.WASP impressed the jury with its novel machine concept featuring two separate processing stations. This enables the parallelization of drilling and tufting processes, effectively doubling output compared to conventional systems. The concept is further enhanced by an optional flat wire unit, which significantly increases the stiffness of the tufts and thus the overall quality of the brushes. This represents a decisive advantage for technical brushes exposed to extreme operating conditions.
The ABMA William A. Cordes Innovation Excellence Award is considered one of the most prestigious honors in the international brush industry. Named after the first president of the ABMA, who served from 1917 to 1928, it recognizes outstanding innovations in products, components, or services within the industry.
